Karin Richardson

Karin Richardson, 69, of Elgin lost her battle with Parkinson's and died with family by her side on Friday August 22, 2014.

Karin was born and raised in Gelsenkirchen, Germany where she was an accomplished accordionist and toured Europe before immigrating to the U.S in 1965. She split her time between Florida and Texas where her entrepreneurially spirit thrived. She was proud to be a Florida Fern Grower in Pierson and continued that in Texas. She was generous, spirited, independent, hardworking, talented, self-motivated, an excellent cook and enjoyed living life to the fullest.

Karin is preceded in death by her parents Josef and Hedwig Rehaag. She is survived by her sister Marianne Lemming, daughter Melanie Richardson Cleveland, son William "Billy" Richardson, son Louis Branton, daughter Marianne Branton-Whited and her grandchildren Amber, Julie, William, Wyatt, Marissa, Lexi, Christian and Keeley.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice Austin's Christopher House for their support in her last days.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014, Providence-Jones Family Funeral home in Elgin, Texas.
