Allen Ray Neiman passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 in Bastrop, Texas at the age of 71. He was born in San Bernardino, California on November 30, 1948 to parents Allen E. and Dorothy (Rice) Neiman. Allen resided with his family in California, attended public school and graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1966. Through High School, Allen worked part time at his father’s Auto Parts business and for a local Flower Shop making deliveries. The delivery job sparked his love for floral design. He became very talented within the floral industry. Seeing the beauty in simple things came natural to Allen, so this avenue came very natural to him.
Allen is a Veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for two years after High School. He is also a very proud father to his son Michael Neiman and an extremely proud grandfather to his twin grandsons, Jacob and Jeremy.
Allen continued to reside in California after his return from Germany until 1990 when he relocated to Texas. Allen worked as a floral designer in La Grange, Texas for several years. In 2007, He began to work at Smithville Florist located in Smithville, Texas as a floral designer until her retired in 2017. He was a major staple at Smithville Florist and was loved and relied on by his clients, local businesses and churches for his talented designs and loyal work ethic. Allen was considered family to the then owners of Smithville Florist, Roy and Marilyn Wood, and their extended family.
Allen’s sister Vicky moved to Texas in February of 2013 and the two siblings shared a home along with many, many great times and memories. Unfortunately, in 2013, a fire took their home and they lost everything. With the help of family members and friends, Allen and Vicki relocated to a home in Smithville and began to rebuild their lives. The two shared their love with a special little dog named Roxie. Allen loved Roxie with all his heart. Roxie will be well taken care of and loved by Vicki during this trying time; They will bring comfort to each other in the days to come.
Allen was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January of 2020. After one treatment of chemotherapy and a short – hard fought battle, he was placed on hospice to live the remainder of his life peasfeully at home with the one’s he loved the most, Vicki and Roxie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Dorothy Neiman and one sister, Laura Murray.
Allen is survived by his sister Vicki Lynn (Neiman) Strout; one son, Michael Neiman and his wife, Rosie and two grandsons, Twins, Jacob and Jeremy Neiman all residing in Arizona.
A Memorial Service in Allen’s honor will be held at First Baptist Church located in Smithville, Texas at a later date.
Allen’s kindness and compassion touched many lives. His laugh was contagious, his smile was comforting and his beautiful soul will be missed by all those lucky enough to have loved him.
