Dorothy Ann Campbell

Dorothy Ann Campbell, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2025.

Born on February 27, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, Dorothy was the youngest of five children born to Robert and Ruby Pharis. On September 12, 1969, she married her beloved husband, Jimmy Campbell, with whom she spent 56 wonderful years. Together, they worked tirelessly to raise a family and create a warm and loving home. Dorothy made significant contributions during her career at the Texas Department of Insurance before retiring.

A woman of many talents, Dorothy had a passion for sewing, crafting, crocheting, and gardening. She especially enjoyed caring for her animals, including her cherished dog, Scruffles, who brought her joy and companionship.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Pharis; her brother Bob Pharis; her sisters Laverne Washington and Nelda Wadsworth; and her son Kenneth Hunter.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jimmy Campbell; her sister Patsy and brother-in-law Bill Campbell; her daughters, Kathryn (and husband Mike Turner) and Laura Campbell (and husband Brian Hall); as well as her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Each of them carries forward the legacy of love and kindness that she shared throughout her life.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 North, Elgin, TX, 78621. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Speir Cemetery, 173 Speir Ln, Elgin, TX 78621.

Dorothy Ann Campbell will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
