Elizabeth Massey, a beloved member of her community, passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on March 3, 1955, in Taylor, Texas, she spent her life embodying joy and compassion, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
Elizabeth pursued a dedicated career, where she made a meaningful impact on the lives of those she served. Throughout her 15-year career at the State Hospital, Elizabeth dedicated herself to serving others, earning the admiration and respect of both colleagues and those in her care.
Known for her vibrant personality, Eliza loved having fun and dancing, often bringing laughter and warmth to gatherings. She was truly a people person and built lasting friendships throughout her life. Her passion for Bible study fueled her spirit, guiding her in her interactions with family and friends. She embraced her faith with zeal, touching the lives of those around her with her insights and nurturing approach.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving son, Randell Massey (Bonnie), as well as cherished siblings: Rita Renee Turner Franklin (Adolph Jr.), Alfred Lee Turner (Shirley), and Robert Turner. She took great pride in her extended family, which includes her beloved nephews—Thomas Turner, Anthony Turner, Scottie Smith, and Timothy Smith—and niece, Letitia Turner, along with numerous great nieces and nephews who brought her immense joy.
She is predeceased by her father, Fred Turner, her mother, Mae Willie Young, her siblings Patricia Hill, Albert Turner, and Madeira Williams, as well as her nephew Michael Hill, who will be remembered fondly by those who knew them.
Elizabeth's life will be celebrated during a visitation at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas, on March 6, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place on March 7, 2026, at Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 612 East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Taylor, TX 76574, starting at 11:00 AM.
As we remember Elizabeth Massey, her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Elizabeth Massey touched the hearts of many, and her legacy will continue to live on in the lives of her family and those she inspired.
