Floyd “Buddy” Lindy Hyden Jr., age 72 of Leander, TX, born to Floyd and Betty Jo Hyden on April 2, 1953, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 28th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Buddy married the love of his life, Bonnie, on September 30, 1971. His love for his wife was unwavering and proud, built on faith, shared laughter, a lifetime of partnership and a lifelong devotion that was evident in the way he cherished and honored her. They spent the next 54 years raising their four children and pouring their hearts into their grandchildren and great‑grandchildren. His love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy. Buddy was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father and a beloved Papaw. Serving God and his family was his greatest joy, his deepest pride, and his most meaningful legacy.
Buddy was a God‑fearing man, a well-respected and a faithful servant. He loved unconditionally and carried the love of Christ in all that he did. His faith wasn’t just something he spoke about, it was something he lived every day. He carried his faith out loud, offering comfort to others simply by the way he lived, loved and served. His heart for children was abundant. He was Uncle Buddy or Papaw to many children not related by blood but bound to him by love. His calling to mentor, guide, and support others was evident in every aspect of his life. Always just one phone call away, Buddy stood ready to serve, encourage, and uplift anyone in need.
Buddy is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 54 years, Bonnie Hyden, son Jeff Hyden, daughters, Rachelle Hyden, Michelle Hyden & Kerri Hyden Riley, son‑in‑law Delon Riley, daughters‑in‑law Zenda Hyden & Trishia Hyden, grandchildren Delon Riley Jr., Madison Hyden, Lindi Riley, Kaitlynn Hyden, Zorena Pfeifer, Nathanial Pfeifer, Michael Pfeifer, Kristen Silliman & Tyler Fleet, great‑grandchildren Maximilliana Riley, Melanie Latham, Olivia Kittleson, Benson Silliman, Taylen Silliman & Sterling Newton.
