Grace Conner

Grace Edna Davidson Conner, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Grace was born on June 28, 1936, in Bastrop County, Texas, to B.F. Davidson and Cecil Rosetta Davidson. She graduated from Travis High School in Austin, Texas, and later graduated from Austin Community College with a degree in Business and a degree in Spanish.

On September 11, 1954, she married the love of her life, Tommie Joe Conner. Together they shared many years of marriage and built a life centered around faith and family.

Grace was a devoted wife and mother who spent many years caring for her home and raising her three sons: Derrell Conner and wife Connie, Jimmy Conner and wife Linda, and Glenn Conner.

During her life, Grace also worked seasonally for the IRS. She was a published writer and faithfully served alongside her husband in ministry and building projects with the Texas Baptist Men. She was also, a member of the Eastern Star for 63 years.

Grace was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Tommie Joe Conner; her parents; six brothers; and two sisters.

She leaves behind her three sons, 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.

A celebration of Grace’s life will be held at Providence Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas, on March 14 at 10:00 a.m., with Interment following in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening, March 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
