Listen to Obituary

Haddon Gerod “Randy” Ratto, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025. He was born on April 30, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, to Haddon Charles and Rowena Hopper Ratto.

Randy graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1968. Throughout his career he obtained seven professional certifications from the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) specializing in internal and external pipeline corrosion

On January 31, 1976, he married the love of his life, Judy Klesel. He worked for many years in the oil and gas industry and retired in 2018 as a Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist —a career in which he took great pride. Randy and Judy made their home in Elgin in 1981.

Throughout their marriage, Randy and Judy nurtured and loved their puppies, pouring their hearts into five beloved companions: Truman, Ginnie, Cutter, Punkin, and J.J.

He enjoyed a lifelong love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Randy also loved cheering on the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs with Judy. He was a former Dallas Cowboys fan—though he never stopped enjoying a good football game.

Randy is survived by his wife, Judy; three nieces; four nephews; and one great-niece and one great-nephew, who loved him dearly.

A graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery in Southland, Texas, in the spring of 2026.
