Listen to Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Charles Liverman, affectionately known as KC, Casey, Buffalo, Chief, Dad, and Papa who left us on September 17, 2025, at the age of 67.

Kenneth was born on June 4, 1958, to Damon and Theresa Liverman in San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas. One of five brothers, he is survived by his half-brother Roy David Lewis. He was preceded in death by his half-brothers Joe Wayne Lewis and James (Jim) Robert Lewis, as well as his brother Daniel Ray Lewis.

He grew up in San Antonio and graduated from high school in December 1976. In 1982, Kenneth met the love of his life, Margaret Inez Hodges (Nez), through mutual friends. They married on June 1, 1984, at Raymond Russell Park near San Antonio and moved to Austin in 1989. Their love only grew stronger over the years, and they built a life full of warmth, adventure, and purpose.

Kenneth was a devoted and loving father to his son, Matthew Charles Liverman, born March 27, 1993. He treasured every moment with Matthew—from late-night feedings to celebrating the man and father he became. He was incredibly proud when Matthew married Annie, and he was overjoyed at the birth of his grandsons, Elillas and Jensen. He was looking forward with excitement to attending the gender reveal for their third child this October.

A lifelong learner, Kenneth returned to school in 1995 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1999. He later completed an electrical trade program and became a journeyman electrician. But his creative spirit called him in other directions as well—he pursued a career in acting, appearing in indie films, plays, commercials, music videos, and even a small role in the movie Bernie alongside Jack Black and Matthew McConaughey. One of his favorite roles was playing Santa during the Christmas season, bringing joy to children at various venues.

In 2015, Kenneth began driving a school bus for Goldstar Transit, a job he truly loved. He enjoyed the work, cherished the kids he drove each day, and formed close friendships with his fellow drivers—often sharing laughs and rounds of dominoes.

Kenneth had a green thumb and a deep love for nature. He could grow just about anything, and at one point, his and Nez’s home in San Antonio looked more like a jungle than a house. He especially loved orchids and would proudly share their Latin names with Nez whenever one bloomed. He worked in several nurseries and greenhouses in the early years of their marriage, helping others learn how to care for plants.

Animals were another of his great loves—especially roosters, which he enjoyed watching strut proudly in the yard. Over the years, he cared for angelfish, bettas, cats, dogs, and chickens.

Kenneth had a warm, open heart and a remarkable ability to truly listen. He stayed in touch with friends old and new and helped anyone who needed it—never expecting anything in return. He had a way of speaking that drew people in. Every story he told felt alive, full of rich detail and emotion. He also had a gift for writing, often composing poems and sentiments that touched the hearts of those around him.

He enjoyed watching hummingbirds at the feeder, doing trivia with Nez on car rides, learning Spanish through Duolingo, listening to podcasts, and enjoying a wide variety of music—from country and blues to hymns and folk. He loved cooking meals for his family, especially weekend breakfasts, which were always made with love and care. A proud fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he rarely missed a game.

More than anything, Kenneth was a man who loved deeply—his family, his friends, his community. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, curiosity, and quiet strength.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret “Nez” Liverman; his son Matthew and daughter-in-law Annie; grandsons Elillas and Jensen; his half-brother Roy David Lewis; and a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
