Louis Albert Menk, 79, of Taylor, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was born February 5,1946 to Arnold and Minnie (Hehman) Menk in Taylor, Texas. He attended school in Taylor, graduating in 1964. Louis grew up on a farm, learning how to fix, repair, or create anything that needed to be fixed, repaired or created! After his father's passing, he assumed farming as his lifelong career. He was well read and knew a great deal about many topics. If you asked his opinion about most anything, you had better take a seat and be prepared for a long discussion! He was very active in his church, Prince of Peace Lutheran at Wuthrich Hill in Taylor, where he was baptized and later confirmed. When he was able to participate, if there was something needing to be done, he was present and contributing--if the doors were open, he was most likely there. Most times, he probably opened the doors! For the past 9 years, he had limited physical mobility and resided at SPJST Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Taylor. He always appreciated the quality care and assistance he received from all the staff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Elamarie Neidig, and his brother-in-law Curtis Neidig.
Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday October 23, 2025, in the Taylor City Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Louis' Life at 11:00 AM, at Prince of Peace Lutheran with the Rev. Michael Albrecht officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran church, Taylor.
