Miguel Baena Figueroa

Miguel Baena Figueroa, age 16, born in Austin Texas, passed away on March 13, 2026. 

Miguel was born on March 30th, 2009, to Francisca and Eustacio Baena. Miguel was the youngest of 8 kids. He was attending Elgin High School.

Miguel was a loving son, a devoted brother, and a caring uncle. He found joy in life's simple moments, whether it was playing the guitar, laughing or jumping on the trampoline with his nephews. He had a youthful spirit and a deep appreciation for the world around him, especially sunsets, music, and time spent with family and friends. Miguel loved being surrounded by the people he cared about, creating memories filled with laughter, conversation, and connection. 

Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his favorite person, his sister, Valeria. Whether they were talking for hours, sharing music, watching the sunset together, or simply enjoying each other's presence, those moments meant everything to him. Their bond was filled with laughter, love, and a deep, unspoken understanding that made their relationship truly special. 

His smile was truly contagious, bringing light to those around him. He had a special love for animals, especially cats, and found comfort and joy in spending time with them. He showed kindness to all living things. Grounded in faith, Miguel believed that God was always with him, guiding and comforting him throughout his life. 

Miguel was survived by both of his parents Francisca and Eustacio, 7 older siblings Rigoberto, Yessica, Veronica, Maria, Tania, Antonio, and Valeria. 6 nephews, Iker, Santiago, Martin, Cennette, Oscar Jr, and Keylin. Predeceased by both paternal grandparents Belem Estrada, Hermogenes Baena and his maternal grandfather Ernesto Figueroa.

A Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 North, Elgin TX 78621. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 302 W 11th St, Elgin TX 78621. Interment to immediately follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery, 305 Ochoa St., Elgin TX 78621.
