In Loving Memory of a Life Devoted to Service –

Nancy Boatright

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Boatright, a beloved wife, mother, friend, and pillar of her community, who departed this life on November 22, 2025, at the age of seventy four.

Born on November 17, 1951, in Austin, Texas to Virginia and Fred Olson. Nancy dedicated her life to lifting others up and making the world around her a better place. From an early age, she believed that every act of kindness—no matter how small—could spark change. That belief guided her through a lifetime of community service that touched countless families in the Manor community.

Nancy was known for her tireless volunteer work, serving the Manor United Methodist Church, the Manor Journal, the Manor Chamber of Commerce, the Manor Disaster Relief, and faith-based organizations. After being encouraged by Pastor JD Herrera, Nancy began mission projects Meals with Manor and Hope ReSTOREd at her church.

She organized the CHRISTmas Shoppe, an annual coat giveaway, coordinated the annual turkey dinner and online auction, and never hesitated to step in when the need was there. Her compassion was matched only by her determination.

Beyond her community work, Nancy was cherished by her family. She met her husband, Ben, on a blind date while attending Sam Houston State University. They married after eight months of dating and would have been married fifty-four years this December. She also leaves behind children Wendy Boatright and Cody Boatright, sister Marilyn Olson Pahlavan, nephew Shane Pahlavan, great-nephews, cousins, and many friends whom she considered family who will forever carry her love, wisdom, and generous spirit in their hearts. To her loved ones, she was a steady source of strength and encouragement, always offering a listening ear or a comforting word.

Nancy enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Their favorite place to travel was to Alaska and they made many memories there. She was so proud that both of her children are teachers and loved to volunteer them and her husband for various projects at church.

In addition to her serving her community, she was employed as the Manor City Secretary for several years and owned Boatright Bookkeeping Services for over twenty years where she worked with several local area businesses.

Her legacy is one of service, kindness, and unwavering faith in God.. Those who knew her will remember her gentle smile, her willingness to give without expecting anything in return, and her belief that community is built through care and connection.

A celebration of her life and service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home located at 604 Highway 95 North in Elgin. The visitation will begin at 9:15 a.m. that morning. After the service, there will be a lunch served at Manor United Methodist Church located at 510 North Burnet Street in Manor. Friends and community members are warmly invited to attend and share memories of a woman whose life truly made a difference.

Though she is no longer with us, the impact of her good works will continue to ripple through the lives she touched. Her light will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
