Shirley Jean Martinez

On April 16, 2023, Shirley Jean Martinez, 60, of Elgin, TX gained her wings. She was known by many names but her favorite was grandma.

Shirley was born on March 8 ^th , 1963 in Austin, Texas to Daniel & Estella Gomez. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Jose Martinez; parents, sisters Peggy (Larry), Gabriella (Geno); Daughters, Yvette (Gabriel), Yvonne, Crystal (Johnny); her sons, Daniel (Abigail), Michael (Susana), her 8 granddaughters, and 6 grandsons as well as nieces and nephews. Shirley will be remembered dearly in our hearts as a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Shirley’s greatest blessings were her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing, spoiling her grandkids, and caring for her cats.

A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 Pm Thursday April 20, 2023, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Celebration of Mass Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday, April 21, 2023, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Elgin Latin Cemetery
